The surroundings

Finestrat sits at the foot of the Puig Campana, the 1,406-metre mountain that shapes the landscape around Benidorm. The old village centre lies inland against the slope. On the coast the municipality has its own beach, Cala de Finestrat, and the La Marina shopping centre. Benidorm borders Finestrat directly, with its shops, restaurants and hospitals a few minutes' drive away. The regional hospital Marina Baixa is in Villajoyosa, about 10 km away. Alicante airport is about 50 km away via the AP-7.

Finestrat is in the Marina Baixa region of the Costa Blanca. Benidorm is five minutes away by car and offers shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies and several international private schools. Nearby are the beaches of Levante, Poniente and Cala de Finestrat, together more than 6 km long and awarded Blue Flags by the European Union. The area offers the Aqua Natura, Terra Mítica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar theme parks, the Sierra Cortina and Villaitana golf courses, hiking and climbing routes on the Puig Campana, and opportunities for water sports.

A penthouse is the top apartment of a building, usually with a private solarium on the roof. Otherwise the same arrangements apply as for an apartment: communal pool, lift and a monthly fee for the common areas.

You buy off plan here: the home is built after you sign the purchase contract. In Spain the builder must cover your stage payments during construction with a bank guarantee or insurance. Completion follows the municipal occupancy licence.
